Meet our Vet

Dr. Chrissy Braun, DVM

Joined our staff full time in May 2017.

Dr. Chrissy obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Illinois after completing her undergraduate work in Biology at Augustana College.  She has always had a passion for shelter medicine and surgery after starting as a volunteer during high school at CatNap.  Her residency included working at many shelters and participating in spay and neuter clinics statewide.

She grew up locally in LaGrange Park and has experience working with cats and dogs, as well as exotic animals. In her spare time, she loves spending time not only with her own cats, but her foster kittens.  She also enjoys spending time outdoors and playing the piano.  Her main passion includes providing quality low cost veterinary care and reducing and taking care of the homeless animal population.

Available Services

Our clinic is available to the general public, rescues, and TNR groups for cats and kittens.

Please call the shelter at (708) 352-3914 to make an appointment for our services! CatNap community clinic services are by appointment only and we can be booked weeks or months in advance (especially at peak times). Spay and neuter appointments are currently full for the months of January, February, March of 2025. Appointments for spays and neuters to be scheduled for April, May, and June 2025 will be taken via phone at 8am on March 27th. If you are in need of spay/neuter services that we are unable to accommodate at the time, please visit our Resource page to review the list of potential shelters and veterinary offices that might be able to assist you with your needs! Clinic surgeries are scheduled Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings. Clinic vaccine appointments are generally scheduled Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
